Occlusal anatomy — full-contour zirconia

The buccal cusp carries the functional load. If the anatomy looks shallow on the model it will look shallower in the mouth once glazed.

Minimum preparation — fully milled zirconiaNoteTechnical info
2026-10-18

Fully milled zirconia crowns can mask discoloured, non-vital teeth where sufficient tooth preparation exists of at least 0.6mm. Thicknesses greater than that are far too opaque for upper anteriors. Over-preparation is contraindicated — take only what the material needs.
